Our client, One of the leading banks providing a full range of financial services is looking for a Senior Network Engineer who will be providing technical escalation support, ensuring timely resolution of network infrastructure incidents and ensuring optimum health and efficiency of network infrastructure.
Mandatory Skill-set
- Must possess Cisco CCNA and CCNP certification;
- Must have at least 7 years of work experience on network operations environment;
- 5+ years experience working with Cisco routers and switches;
- Strong working knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies (including MPLS, E1, T1, ISDN, GSM, etc);
- Strong working knowledge of routing protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, RIP, etc);
- Strong working knowledge on Gigabit Ethernet, Fastethernet, FDDI and TokenRing, etc.;
- Strong working knowledge on MPLS, QOS and multicast technologies;
- Strong analytical skills using sniffers and network probes;
- Must be able to work under stressful situations;
- Must be self-motivated, energetic and always eager to learn.
Desired Skill-set
- CCIE Certification is desirable;
- Experience and certifications with Juniper products will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Develop, improve, implement and deliver superior Network Operations support to the Client's infrastructure;
- Provide timely incident resolutions support to Level 1 and Level 2 engineers on network incidents;
- Lead resolution and analytical activities on high impact incidents, working with various operations support groups;
- Perform root cause analysis on Severity 1 type outages, leveraging on support from Engineering team and vendor;
- Ability to review network traces captured through probes to identify cause of incidents leading towards resolution of the incident;
- Review high risk and high impact changes to ensure correctness of configuration, impact analysis and conformance to global standards;
- Escalate issues and/ or outages to regional and/ or global engineering;
- Perform proactive audits on network devices;
- Influence and improves the Client's Network Operations practices and technologies;
- Supports a large-scale enterprise network;
- Position will have broad business contacts globally, and across all major business lines;
- Broad regional and global exposure with other operational groups;
- Exposure to multiple network architectures and vendors;
- Foster innovation, working with other engineers and ensures that support services stay current/ahead of the market;
- Develop and tracks solutions to existing control issues, and ensuring ongoing self-identification of control issue.
