Qualification
The Operations Manager will direct the reception, storage, processing and packing of commodity products for efficiency and timeliness and be responsible for all planning and reporting. This person will also work with respective departments to ensure smooth operations for receiving of commodity, quality control, processing, logistics and shipping, staffing, machine maintenance and installation and warehouse maintenance, etc. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership / Business

Responsible for overseeing, directing, planning and reporting for the reception, storage, processing and packing of commodity products in an efficient and timely manner.

Develop annual budget and identify areas for cost savings initiatives, and facilitate variance analysis against budget.

Provide a contribution to organizational innovation activities, new construction and development.

Oversee continuous process improvement in production, logistics and technical support.

Production

Direct line manufacturing operations of the processing plant.

Schedule department production needs to meet customer requirements.

Setting of staff duties and activities

Analyze plant operating reports and records.

Oversee achievement of production levels by monitoring efficiency, capacity and yields. Take necessary corrective action to improve methods or processes if necessary.

Responsible for inventory

Review production costs and taking action necessary to control costs.

Develop and encourage innovations to the processing operation.

Stay up to date of developments and trends in manufacturing for application in department; recommend changes in policies and procedures as appropriate.

Support machine supplier relations.

Health & Safety / Governmental Regulations

Ensure standards are adhered to for safety, general equipment and facilities maintenance and preventive maintenance matters.

Maintain compliance with plant safety standards and policies regarding governmental safety regulations (e.g. Occupational Health and Safety, ISO, environmental, etc.)

Sanitation / Food Safety

Ensure that food safety/sanitation/quality programs of the facility comply with the law, regulatory requirements and company programs.

Ensure that food safety/sanitation/quality programs are communicated to plant supervisors and hourly employees.

Ensure food safety/sanitation/quality training programs are conducted for all employees / new hires and on an annual basis.

Personnel

Guide and assist subordinates in solving manufacturing problems, such as, in-process inventory management and scheduling, quality problems, and changes to production methods.

Participate actively in personnel matters and deal with employee problems and complaints. Maintain and support prescribed programs of employee relations, health and safety, training and development, etc.

Provide leadership and support to department supervisors.

REQUIREMENTS

Degree holder from reputable University. Those with relevant experience but lower qualification will be considered

At least 5 years or more relevant operations experience in similar industry

Prefer to have commodity experience ideally in coffee (arabica or robusta) but other commodities such as cocoa, grain etc is acceptable.

Excellence leadership, good personality, interpersonal skill, and good communication skill

Highly organized, meticulous and able to multi- task

Speak fluent English

Willing to work in Medan for minimum 2 years
