Hotel Manager Job in a Nairobi Hotel

A hotel in Nairobi offering accommodation requires an ideal candidate to fill in the following vacancy:

Position: Hotel Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Planning and organizing accommodation, catering and other hotel services
  • Promoting and marketing the business
  • Managing budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure
  • Maintaining statistical and financial records
  • Setting and achieving sales and profit targets
  • Analyzing sales figures and devising marketing and revenue management strategies
  • Planning work schedules for individuals and teams
  • Dealing with customer complaints and comments
  • Ensuring events and conferences run smoothly
  • Supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations and furnishings
  • Insuring security is effective
  • Carrying out inspections of property and services
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
  • Conduct regular meetings with heads of department on a weekly basis to coordinate and monitor the progress of business strategies.
Essential Technical Competences:
  • Diploma in institutions' management, hospitality services, foods and nutrition, business administration or other related field.
  • Atleast 5 years experience in the Hotel industry with three (3) years in the capacity of a hotel manager
  • Must have worked in a hotel with an accommodation capacity of atleast 25 rooms
  • Entrepreneurship and building and growing a strong business is essential to success in this role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and support staff.
  • Proficient in computer packages- Ms Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Age: 32 – 45yrs
