The Instructional Designer is accountable for the design and development of learning and performance-focused solutions, for business initiatives. Doing so enables business groups to achieve visible and measurable improvements to human performance, development and/or productivity and business results.
All projects require a level of project management and coordination.
Knowledge & Skills: Qualifications/Designations
Demonstrated ability to multitask on projects varying in complexity and of strategic importance to clients
Current and relevant knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional methodologies, technology-enabled design and learning methods
Experience in the design and development of training for all three main delivery methods: self-directed, facilitated classroom and web-based
Ability to act independently within defined objectives and direction
Self-starter with strong analytical and proven creative problem solving skills
Detail oriented
Strong team player with proven interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, development managers, application developers, subject matter experts and facilitators
Flexibility and adaptability to change, with proven ability to achieve within an unstructured environment and willingness to take on challenges with continuously evolving software and services
Ability to quickly understand the value and application of new development tools
Ability to effectively communicate complex / technical information clearly and simply Creative and innovative
Strong communication skills, verbal and written
Project management experience
Strong analytical, time management and organizational skills
Facilitation skills and experience with group dynamics
Preference for Bachelor of Education and/or Masters in Education
Preference for formal Instructional Design or e-Learning certification/accreditation
Experience in Financial Services / Banking sector an asset but not required
French/English Bilingual – significant asset
