Responsibilities: This position serves as a key interface between the four North America Consumer Banking (NACB) businesses (Citi Cards, Citi Retail Services, U.S. Consumer and Commercial Banking, and Citi Mortgage) and regulators, ensuring that regulatory commitments are met in a timely and consistent fashion. This individual will coordinate regulatory exams, managing interactions with in-business regulatory relations and compliance leads, reporting to the NACB Managing Director of Industry Practices. • Design and execute a formal plan, including standards, protocols, procedures and other documentation, for cross-business/horizontal exams and other regulatory interactions and requests, that will contribute to the success of NACB in its objective of maintaining highly effective relationships with our regulators and supervisory agencies safeguarding Citi's strong examination ratings • Serve as the lead to manage and coordinate, with in-business regulatory relationship management staff, our cross-business regulatory exam process (preparation, exam management communication and post exam process), as well as requests for information and regulatory issues to ensure appropriate awareness and communication related to upcoming and on-going examinations • Assist the businesses in improving identification, analysis, resolution, escalation and communication of regulatory issues internally with a particular focus on those that cut across business lines, to assist in driving best practices across the businesses • Represent the combined NACB businesses in key meetings with examiners, and ensure that issues are communicated and managed appropriately • For cross-business/horizontal exams and regulatory issues, utilize available solutions and make recommendations for enhanced options to monitor and track business execution and practices (e.g. key performance metrics, surveys, heat maps, sub-committees/task forces) • Partner with the in-business regulatory relationship management leads, Audit, Compliance, Finance, HR, Legal, Risk and O&T colleagues to address issues which may have cross-business implications as well as systemic ones • Additional responsibilities may also evolve to include cross business processes and projects as needed
Skills
Requirements: • BA required • Minimum of 10-years in consumer banking (cards, retail banking or mortgage, but preferably within multiple businesses) in large, diverse financial institutions • Minimum of 5 years of direct regulatory agency experience • Demonstrated ability to identify emerging risk issues across multiple businesses • Demonstrated process and project management skills • Strong collabative skills. Demonstrated ability to work closely with business lines and control and oversight functions including Compliance, Legal, and Independent Risk • Skilled at building and maintaining relationships. High level of diplomacy and consensus building; ability to inspire trust, influence others, promote collaboration and motivate • Strong analytical skills • Excellent ability to communicate, work with and effectively lead change across multiple constituencies, organizational boundaries and levels of management • Proven leadership skills • Demonstrated success in a matrix reporting environment, influence-based role • Strong written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; strong presentation skills • Maintain a keen understanding of significant trends and issues affecting the financial services industry • Sound business judgment and savvy, with organizational awareness to ensure efficiency of process Preferred: • Regulatory compliance/control experience in a large financial services company or audit/management consulting experience
