In particular BATCH PROCESSING. The Senior Java Developer will be joining the development team in New York where they provide technology development and support for the Treasury Department. The senior Java developer will need to have a very good understanding of TRADING AND SETTLEMENTS SYSTEMS.

In this particular role, the Senior Java Developer will be responsible for the analysis, design, programming and unit testing of software enhancements, as well as production support for released applications and processes. 

The Senior Java developer  will also be responsible for performing research on production issues as they arise, and will be required to work with the user community to clarify requirements, validate test results and respond to requests for support.  Documentation of all development will be required, with turnover of processes to our production support team.

Technical Skills required: Senior Java Developer – Real-Time (fixed income) – New York

Required/Must have:

Java (core), J2EE,

Servlet, JSP, HTTP/CSS,

JavaScript and frameworks

MS SQL Server (stored procedures, triggers, batches)

Database modeling

XML technologies including XSD and XSLT

Windows and Perl scripting

NT/XP/MS Office Suite

Plus:

Middleware (MQ, Tuxedo, Tibco, JMS)

COBOL

VB or VB.NET

Application Servers (Weblogic, JBoss)

Unix / Linux Shell scipting

Oracle

Required/Must have:

• Clear written and verbal communication skills, appropriate to a given audience, (technical, functional, etc.)

• Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a very dynamic environment, with rapidly changing priorities

• Flexible and adaptable to new environments.  Ability to quickly learn new systems, products and businesses..

• Excellent problem solving skills.  

• Must be able to interact with a variety of teams – support, infrastructure, development.

• Must be able to provide accurate estimation of work effort, and effective status to management as well as clients.

Required/Must have:

• Equities front/back office applications experience in the brokerage industry

• Equities Finance systems/vendors experience

• Full project life cycle experience

• Production support experience

• Experience providing documentation to both technical and client audiences

• Approximately 3-5 years of work experience
