Analyst Software Developer - Financial Systems - Philadelphia

Supporting the software development of a large financial services firm. Position is located in Philadelphia.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and support modules of a Hedge Fund Administration platform.

• Software Development, primarily in the following languages: T-SQL, Adobe Flex, Perl, Visual Basic and others.

• Point of contact for Business users on any production application project or any question related to technical job supporting the day to day Business

• Liaison between Business users, IT Application Support teams, Client Service teams and the Service Providers.

• Technical testing, internal technical meetings and regular reviews with business users

• Contribute to the quality of technical and user testing phases.

Requirements:

• 0-2  years of applicable development experience preferably within the financial sector

• Recent Masters level computer science graduate with related internships considered

• A deep understanding of at least one programming language (Perl preferred)

• Experience in SQL

• Experience in Adobe flex (desired, but not required)

• Knowledge of the financial markets and the instruments traded therein is a plus

• Strong verbal and written skills – must be able to participate in the spec writing process (both business functional and technical). 

• Must be able to effectively communicate with business users, IT management and IT staff.

• Master’s Degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science
