Location: Lagos
Purpose Statement:
To supervise daily flight dispatch and planning activities of Air Nigeria based on Operations Procedure and Government and Company Regulation.
Key Accountabilities:
- To supervise daily flight dispatch and planning activities of Air Nigeria based on Operations Procedure, Government and Company Regulation
- To analyze and evaluate meteorological and NOTAM information to determine potential hazards to safety of flight and to select the most desirable and economic route of flight
- To compute fuel amount required for safe completion of flight according to aircraft type, distance and Minimum Equipment List (MEL) limitations
- Formulating and implementing revised Operational Flight Plans when conditions warrant and communicating the revised plans to the Pilot-in Command
- To provide the Pilot-in-Command with a thorough and professional flight crew briefing, covering all significant information which may impact the operation of his flight
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Educated to degree level or its equivalent
At least 5 years industry experience in a related role with experience of supervising / managing people
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel
At least 2 years experience in Flight Dispatch and Planning duties.
Must be a certified or licensed Flight Dispatcher
High level of analytical and numerical skills
Strong negotiating and relationship management skills
Working Knowledge of computer based operations tool will be an added advantage
Working Relationships:
Internal: Operations Colleague, All relevant departments
External: Regulatory / Airport Authority Officials
